- Larger lots. Many parcels are quarter-acre or bigger — atypical for the Treasure Valley's modern master-planned standard. Real backyards, room for a shop, RV parking, mature trees.
- Custom-home variety. Each home looks different. Built lot-by-lot in the late-1990s and 2000s by various semi-custom builders, so you don't get the cookie-cutter feel of a phased master-plan.
- Boise SD school track. Most Hickories addresses fall under Boise SD with the Capital HS feeder pattern (verify per parcel). Different alternative-program access than the West Ada side.
- West Boise convenience. Quick access to Eagle Rd, Cole Rd, and the Cherry Lane corridor. ~12 minutes to The Village, ~15 minutes to downtown Boise off-peak.
