Power is Idaho Power and gas is Intermountain Gas. Most Boise homes get drinking water from Veolia, a private company, while the City of Boise bills sewer and trash together. File your homestead exemption with Ada County after you move in, because it does not carry over from the seller.

Common questions
Most Boise homes get drinking water from Veolia Water Idaho, a private company. A small area of west Boise is on Capitol Water Corporation. The City of Boise does not sell drinking water, but it does bill sewer and trash. The seller's water bill tells you which company serves the home.
Idaho Power serves the whole Treasure Valley. Use the Start Service form on idahopower.com or call (208) 388-2323, and give your closing date as the start date. If the meter is already on, Idaho Power says the switch happens within 3 business days of the date you ask for.
The City of Boise runs Curb It trash, recycling and compost, and Republic Services picks up the carts. It is billed with sewer on your city utility account. Owners start it with the city's Owner Move In form.
It depends on the lot. Boise has many irrigation districts and ditch companies, and the city runs pressure irrigation in only a handful of subdivisions. Use the state irrigation lookup map, or ask the seller who bills them for irrigation water.
Yes. In Ada County the exemption does not carry over from the seller. File with the Ada County Assessor once you own and live in the home. It takes 50% off the taxable value of your home and up to one acre, capped at $125,000. To count for this tax year, file by the last business day of December.
The Idaho Transportation Department says new residents must get an Idaho driver's license or ID card within 30 days of moving here, and must title and register their vehicles within 30 days. Some older county pages still say 90 days. Go by the state's 30 day rule.
