Power is Idaho Power and gas is Intermountain Gas. City water, sewer and trash stay with the house, and your title company moves the account at closing. File your homestead exemption with Ada County after you move in, because it does not carry over from the seller.

Common questions
The City of Meridian provides water and sewer to most of the city. The account stays with the house, and your title company handles the change at closing. A small number of Meridian homes get water from Veolia, a private company. The seller's water bill tells you which.
Idaho Power serves the whole Treasure Valley. Use the Start Service form on idahopower.com or call (208) 388-2323, and give your closing date as the start date. If the meter is already on, Idaho Power says the switch happens within 3 business days of the date you ask for.
Republic Services picks up trash and every other week recycling. It is billed on your Meridian city utility account, so it starts with your water account. Call Republic for a different cart size or a missed pickup.
Most Meridian subdivisions have pressure irrigation from ditch water. The city does not run these systems. Your HOA or an irrigation district does, and the land may also pay a yearly district assessment. Ask your HOA, or use the city irrigation map.
Yes. In Ada County the exemption does not carry over from the seller. File with the Ada County Assessor once you own and live in the home. It takes 50% off the taxable value of your home and up to one acre, capped at $125,000. To count for this tax year, file by the last business day of December.
The Idaho Transportation Department says new residents must get an Idaho driver's license or ID card within 30 days of moving here, and must title and register their vehicles within 30 days. Some older county pages still say 90 days. Go by the state's 30 day rule.
