Johnathan Melin.
Johnathan is the COO and a co-owner of Good News Realty Group. He spent over a decade in the US Army before transitioning into real estate, and the discipline he learned there is what makes our operations actually run on time. If your offer comes back with every signature where it needs to be and every deadline tracked to the minute, that is his system.
From the Army to Idaho.
Johnathan served over twelve years in the United States Army before separating and starting a second career in real estate. He and his wife Meghan settled in Boise in 2018 and have been raising their family here ever since. He has been a licensed Idaho REALTOR® since 2019.
The honest version of why Johnathan is in real estate: military families get sold a lot of homes by people who do not know what a VA appraisal cost-share looks like, what a PCS timeline actually feels like at the buyer's desk, or which Treasure Valley neighborhoods are friendly to a family that may have to sell on 60 days' notice in three years. He does. He moved his own family across half the country to land here. He knows the questions you should be asking before you sign anything.
As COO of Good News Realty Group, he runs operations: the systems, the compliance, the client-pipeline, the parts of a real estate firm that are usually held together with sticky notes. Josh handles the brokerage license. Rachael handles the brand. Johnathan makes sure the work actually ships on time.
What clients hire him for.
VA-loan buyers. The MRP designation (Military Relocation Professional, a NAR designation) signals formal training in VA-specific contract terms, VA appraisal handling, BAH-versus-mortgage math, and the contingencies that protect a service member on PCS orders. Most agents in this market do not have it.
Active-duty PCS buyers and sellers. If you are inbound to Mountain Home AFB or Gowen Field, or you are PCS-ing out of one and trying to sell remotely, Johnathan has done it himself. The playbook is real, not theoretical.
Out-of-state relocators in general. Veteran or not, the buyer profile of "moving from somewhere expensive, bringing equity, has 60 days, needs to be right the first time" is one Johnathan handles in volume.
Operations and process for the team. Internally, every transaction at GNRG runs through systems Johnathan built. That is why our closings have the cadence they do.

Idaho life.
Johnathan and Meghan are raising their family in the Treasure Valley. Outside of work he spends time with his kids, in the outdoors, and on the road for the team. Real estate is the second career; the first one taught him most of what is useful about the second.
Schedule with Johnathan.
